Bec des Rosses
Mountains from Verbier
About the work
The storm was foretold. Impatient at the idea of witnessing a miracle, I hurry to the Mont Fort cable car. The snow hit the heights with full force. Almost alone in climbing to this altitude, I observe that skiers and mountaineers have given up challenging the mountain in these conditions. At summit, I wait, hoping to find myself above the sea of clouds. Finally, nature reveals itself in all its splendour. The clouds break. I can see the Bec des Rosses and the Mont-Blanc massif in all their majesty. Filled with emotion, I feel deeply connected to the soul of the mountain. In the cold and the storm, I immortalize this world I cherish so much.
I love the cottony atmosphere that emanates from this work. The mountains face the fury of the elements. And yet, as we contemplate this luminous painting, a sense of calm washes over us. In the garden of the unspeakable, I have discovered my wonder. In the midst of chaos, I am drawn by an invisible force. I call this garden the high mountain in the middle of a storm.
