At summit of the Mont Blanc massif, the Aiguille des Deux Aigles asserts its power. Like a sharp spear, it pierces the clouds to reach the sky. A jewel carved by the winds, it reigns over the Chamonix valley, admired by men and feared by the heavens. Behind it, the Aiguille du Plan offers its snow-plastered rocks to the sun. On this winter's day, the storm was raging at altitude. While the Aiguille des Deux Aigles usually flaunts the beauty of its rock, here the snow adorns it with a fabulous mantle. The effervescence of the winds made my heart beat faster. I watch the horizon feverishly as, suddenly, the clouds give way to light, bringing this masterpiece to life. The curtain rises on a dazzling spectacle. After so many years of waiting for the furious winds of Chamonix, the mountain finally reveals itself to me. I photographed this moment of grace in the same way one captures the splendors of life. Passionately and for eternity.
