bernese alps overview
the legendary trio
About the work
On the left, the Eiger rises to an altitude of 3,967 metres. Our journey continues towards the Mönch summit , which imposes its monastic presence at 4,110 metres. To the right, the Jungfrau, queen of the bernese alps, crowns the ensemble at 4,158 metres. These three giants form a perfect harmony, each revealing its distinct personality.
Our gaze travels between these giants, captivated by the exceptional geography of the bernese alps. The Eiger, formidable on its north face, converses with the contemplative Mönch, while the Jungfrau adds a note of feminine grace to this masculine ensemble.
The winter light at the end of the day reveals every detail of these snowy faces. This monochrome palette sublimates the raw beauty of these summits that have forged the legend of mountaineering. Grindelwald reveals its best-kept treasures here.
I captured this panoramic black-and-white photograph when Grindelwald decided to reveal the soul of the summits. I love the mountains when they become powerful and luminous, sublimated by delicate, vaporous nuances. I love it when winter redraws the summits and color fades. This panoramic photograph of the bernese alps captures the spirit of this mythical trio, where Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau epitomize the grandeur of the Swiss Alps.
