Besso
the Zinal twins
About the work
At the start of the summer season, fresh snow still covers the dark rock. This natural finery gives the mountain an exceptional presence. Clouds play with its edges, sometimes veiling, sometimes revealing its tormented contours. The mist has engulfed its legendary neighbors - Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, Dent Blanche - and now it can only rely on itself. This ephemeral dance between mist and light transforms the Besso into a mysterious vision, where every moment offers a renewed spectacle.
This mountain, less famous than its giant neighbors, reveals a more intimate beauty, more accessible to the eye. It embodies the discreet poetry of the Valais summits , where grandeur is as much a measure of mystery as of altitude. See how the sun peeks through the clouds. For beyond the wind and mist, there is a world of pure light. I like this work because it remains in color while remaining monochrome. Bathed in shades of blue and gray, with deep, delicate contrasts, the photograph perfectly underlines the beauty of the Besso and its grandeur.
