I had watched the mountain for a long time, waiting for the moment when it would reveal itself in all its splendor. That day, after a storm had passed, the Castor appeared to me as if transfigured. The veil of snow freshly deposited on its slopes shimmered under the first rays breaking through the clouds. The almost unreal light seemed to emanate from the mountain itself, creating the ethereal atmosphere that gives the summit its almost mystical dimension. For me, Le Castor embodies this rare harmony, this precious balance between power and elegance.

I have already climbed Le Castor on skis one spring. This intimate experience with the mountain feeds my photographic vision. I know the feel of crampons biting into hard-packed snow, I feel the breath of the wind caressing these heights, I hear the profound silence that reigns over these immaculate expanses.
