Rising to the sky, the Dames Anglaises pierce the mist at 3610 metres above sea level. I contemplate these austere guardians of the Mont Blanc realm, sometimes hidden by veils of cloud, sometimes revealed in all their mineral splendor. At their feet lies the bivouac of the Dames Anglaises, a sublime refuge for daring mountaineers.

I captured this fabulous portrait in 2019 as the mists danced with the summits, creating this mysterious, almost unreal atmosphere. The snow clinging to the faces, the striking contrasts between the darkness of the rock and the immaculate brilliance of the névés, the power of these natural monuments that defy weightlessness - everything converges towards this monochrome symphony where grays decline to infinity.

The Dames Anglaises, with their British elegance and stoicism in the face of the elements, remind us of our insignificance in the face of Alpine grandeur. They stand there, unperturbed, while the clouds wrap around their sharp silhouettes, as if whispering age-old secrets that only the mountain can hear.
