Portrait of La Dent Blanche, Maupassant's "Monstrueuse Coquette". After the winter storm, it emerges, majestic and implacable, from a sea of clouds. Its silhouette soars across the Val d'Anniviers, seeking to pierce the sky with its sharp point.

Fifteen years have passed since my first encounter with the Dent Blanche. And yet, every time I look at it, I feel the same thrill of wonder. The Dent Blanche doesn't just exist in the Valais Alps - it dominates, it imposes. Its gigantic, monstrous presence fascinates anyone privileged enough to catch a glimpse of it.

I captured this titanic tableau when the mountain seemed to be in dialogue with the heavens. The powerful contrasts between light and shadow reveal the complex textures of rock and ice. Massive and seemingly inaccessible, the Dent Blanche embodies everything I'm search : that untouchable beauty that reminds us of our insignificance while nurturing our aspiration to elevate ourselves. It is the perfect symbol of a nature that never truly submits, that retains its mysteries and wildness.

In this work, I wanted to capture the emotion that the Dent Blanche arouses - that mixture of respect, admiration and humility in the face of the summit's grandeur.
