Monumental portrait of the two Grindelwald giants, eternal symbols of the bernese alps. The Eiger and Mönch tower majestically over the valley. In front of me, nature offers itself in its rawest truth. In the foreground, the north face of the Eiger, famous and feared, imposes itself with all its verticality. Inhospitable, inhuman, it is nonetheless strikingly beautiful. The winds have pressed the snow into its cracks, reshaping the mountain with unexpected gentleness. To the left, the Mittellegi ridge cuts through the horizon to the summit. Clouds cling to it, light glides over it, sculpting the silhouette of the ogre of the Alps. Behind the Eiger, the Mönch rises between light and shadow. A snow ridge links these two giants in perfect balance.

I painted this picture at daybreak, just as the storm was fading away. The light, soft and sharp at the same time, brushed against the ridges. In those few moments, I saw the mountain reborn. The Eiger and Mönch offered me their purest faces, their most precious textures. That morning, the Alps looked like the Himalayas. Each glance at this large-format photograph reveals a new detail. The deep, silvery contrasts reveal the soul of the mountains - their grandeur, their fragility, their eternal breath.
