Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau
Grindelwald's watchers
About the work
I captured this panorama in black and white from the heights of Grindelwald . That day, the light is soft. It doesn't cut, it caresses. The shadows gradually fade, giving way to a harmony of shapes and textures. The sea of clouds, below, envelops the valleys. Everything becomes calm after the storm. And in this silence, the mountains speak. The Eiger, nicknamed "the Ogre," remains true to its reputation. Its abrupt and wild face seems to want to bite the light. The Mönch, in the center, balances the scene. Its summit snow melts into the clouds, as if it already belonged to another world. It is there, solid and serene. Finally, the Jungfrau , nicknamed "The Young Girl", rises gracefully.
This panorama is a conversation between shadow and light, strength and gentleness, stillness and movement. I wanted to capture not just mountains, but presences. Presences that look at us as much as we contemplate them.
