About the work
Guardian of the Valais Alps, the Grand Combin dominates the landscape above the Val de Bagnes. I chose black and white for this photograph to celebrate the grandeur of this mountain and its north face. Deeply inspired by the majesty of the Grand Combin, I was lucky enough to climb this iconic summit in 2022, accompanied by Johann Filliez, my mountain guide. A native of Verbier, Johann has a unique relationship with the Grand Combin. And I understand him fully. How can you resist the splendor of the absolute ruler of the Bagnes and Entremont valleys?
Back in 2020, when the Valais Alps were shaken by a violent storm. At summit the Grand Combin, the storm was raging. The mountain was fierce and merciless. The wind blew away the accumulated snow, revealing crystal-clear ice on the north face. That day, the mountain was once again wild and inaccessible to man.
What I admire in this work is the expression of the power of the elements. The indirect light, despite the thick clouds, envelops the summit to reveal its soul. This veil sublimates the shadows, distilling a vital, poetic energy. Fascinating details on the north face tell the story of the Grand Combin's thousand-year history. To grasp this facet of an all-powerful mountain, I need to be present at the first hours of nature's awakening. With a stormy breath, I capture the raw emotion and incomparable power of the high summits.

As former inhabitants of Zermatt, it's hard to forget the Matterhorn, even in a new environment of mountains and nature.we discovered this large photo of the Matterhorn in a gallery, so strong and intense, it was impossible to forget it........ It became obvious that it should adorn our new apartment as a centerpiece.What's more, we had a very sympathetic contact with the artist, who came himself to deliver his work.It's very appreciable and adds a dimension to the object, to know its creator, his passion, the conditions under which it was taken.The texture of the photo resembles a painting, the lights play on it, Next the hours. It seems alive. A real daily pleasure!

We were bowled over!
My wife and I are amazed at the quality of print and the rendering of this magnificent photo. We had waited many years to put a picture on this blank wall because we had never "flashed" on a piece of art. Now we've found it, and it fits in perfectly at the entrance to our apartment. What's more, it depicts 3 summits that are particularly close to our hearts: the Weisshorn, Dent Blanche and the Matterhorn - quite a symbol...
