Celestial Emergence

A celestial journey through the mountains of Valais, in the Swiss Alps. This sumptuous black-and-white photograph highlights the infinite grandeur of the Combins massif, enthroned on the horizon. On the left, the Combin de la Tsessette, freshly plastered with snow, emerges from a sea of clouds like an ocean liner sailing on the waves. In the center, the Grand Combin, or Combin de Grafeneire, dominates. On the right, its ridge leads to the Combin de Valsorey, bathed in early spring sunshine. Echoing their magnificence, several summits on the outskirts of the Val de Bagnes stand out in the foreground. On the left, Le Pleureur and, on the right, La Sâle. Why are they so named? I don't know, but their story arouses my curiosity. So, if you know the origin of their names, don't hesitate to tell me! I look forward to hearing from you. Finally, on the right, Rocher du Bouc leads to the Pantaloncs Blancs bivouac. A black dot perched on its ridge, it's clearly visible on the large print photograph.

This is the world I love to photograph. The incomparable atmosphere of the high mountains. A timeless, overwhelming atmosphere in the heart of the celestial kingdom. I thrive on the strength and serenity of the world above. When the summits appear beyond the clouds, just whitened by the snow. Feel the ceaseless flow of clouds along the rocks. Admire how alive this landscape is. By the interpretation we make of it as we gaze upon it. Alive, too, in the energy of the elements merging before us. Earth, air, water and fire unite to offer us this moment of grace. A veritable masterpiece sculpted by nature that I immortalize for you. As a mountain photographer, I am attentive to the evolution of time. I study, watch and listen so as to be present at the right moment when the summits reveal their beauty.
