Mont-Blanc
The Symphony of the Peaks
About the work
I took this photograph by helicopter one spring morning. I studied the cartography of the region at length to find the perfect angle, atypical and powerful. On this day, the mountain is reborn after facing the storm. The clouds part to conquer new horizons. Snow-covered walls glisten in the sun. Faced with such beauty, it's hard not to be transported! Beyond ourselves and beyond the world.
I love the contrasts between light and shadow that transcend summits. The purity of fresh snow illuminating the mountain. The strength of the shadows that structure the picture. The image's graphics are striking. Repetition of pyramidal shapes and superimposed planes that follow one another to add depth to the photograph. The incredible interplay of mist and glaciers brings the work to life. The sculptural beauty of this portrait of Mont Blanc is on a par with its unequalled grandeur. Magisterial and eternal.
