Standing between the Eiger and Jungfrau mountains, Mönch is revealed here in all its winter splendour. Its towering silhouette dominates the Grindelwald valley like a natural rampart. In the low light at the end of the day, every ridge blazes with a silvery glow, while the shadows gradually sink into the mountain's innermost folds.

To capture this moment, I had to move away. Facing the Mönch, verticality crushes the gaze, preventing it from embracing its full extent. By stepping back, the mountain reveals itself differently, offering a perspective that reveals its power and majesty. This slight retreat opened up a space for contemplation, revealing the subtle harmony between its abrupt lines and the flanks softened by the snow.

The glacier, below, unfurls its crevasses and sinuous curves like an invitation to discovery. The soft, incisive winter light caresses the relief and highlights the purity of the contours. It's a rare, almost fragile clarity that transforms the mountain into a jewel frozen in a moment of eternity.

With this photograph, I wanted to offer a showcase to this mythical summit . A tribute to the singular personality of the Mönch, at once imposing and soothing. Between strength and serenity, it embodies the essence of the Swiss high mountain: authentic, timeless and untameable.
