Dance of the Titans

Journey to the heart of bernese alps. This panoramic black-and-white photograph shows the Mönch and Jungfrau, Grindelwald's iconic mountains. When viewed from the resort, their gigantic rock faces remind us just how small we really are. And to appreciate the power and beauty of their forms, you have to step away from them. To get some distance and height. With a storm looming in the winter of 2020, I decided to reach summits by helicopter. Before the clouds completely covered the valley. Because I had to fly over the mist to get a chance to immortalize the mountains in their celestial guise. At sunrise, when the winds die down and the light warms up summits, their peaks tear through the clouds.

I was lucky enough to climb this legendary mountain. That day, it was snowing and I found myself caught in a storm. Encircled by the winds, doubt and fear took hold of me. It was a harsh experience, but one I'll never forget. It was like being transported to the heart of my photographs. To experience the intensity of the moments that make up the beauty of my work. I like to convey this grandiose atmosphere through my art. I choose the right moment, the precise location. The angle of view that will glorify the splendor of the mountains.
