Mont Blanc
Fog Ridge
About the work
This work was born of infinite patience and a stubborn quest. I had to wait for the stars to align: the fresh snow that adorns the summits of its immaculate dress, the furious winds that still sweep the ridges after the storm, this crystalline light of dawn that caresses the Italian slope without dazzling it. So many elements that made me pray for a long time before the magic finally worked.
The ridge is revealed here in all its vertical splendor, revealing its initiatory journey from Mont Brouillard to Pointe Baretti, before rising in the steep rocks towards Pointe Louis-Amédée. The ridge continues its path, embracing Mont Blanc from Courmayeur to finally join the summit of Mont Blanc.
This photograph captures the essence of a boundless journey into raw nature, without equipment or shelter, where man confronts the absolute. Each line of this ridge tells a story of solitude and grandeur, a journey within oneself facing the giant of the Alps. In this striking black and white, the contrasts reveal the dramatic power of this vertical wall, an eternal testament to Alpine majesty as seen from Italy.
