Mount Blanc
triumph in the storm
About the work
On this particular day, wind gusts exceeded 120 km/h. Snow swept down the slopes, glaciers shook and everything seemed destined for chaos. Yet it was in this chaos that beauty was revealed. I spent long hours scanning the horizon, trying to catch a glimpse of the ridges engulfed in mist. Then, suddenly, the miracle happened. The clouds parted, revealing the face of Mont Blanc in all its splendour. There was an almost unreal intensity to the moment. The mountain didn't just seem to exist: it triumphed, defying the elements, standing victorious amidst the tumult.
Contemplating this picture, I felt transported: out of time, out of the world, as if the mountain were revealing its deepest truth to me. With every glance, this photograph invites me to relive that moment of grace. It carries within it the vertigo of summits, the fragility of the ephemeral and the strength of the eternal.
