Mont Blanc from Courmayeur
the dawn
About the work
I have long awaited this particular light of morning, where the softness of the first rays contrasts with the violence of the elements at altitude. The storm that shakes the summit The main slope reveals all the energy of the high mountains, while the lower walls are still bathed in apparent tranquility. This Italian side, with its hanging glaciers and vertiginous faces, offers a radically different face of Mont Blanc, wilder, more vertical.
In this black and white portrait, I wanted to capture the duality that characterizes the mountain: beauty versus danger. The shades of gray reflect the complexity of this mineral world where every ledge, every ridge tells a story. This work illustrates the very essence of the high mountains, this place where grace and power meet in a fragile and fascinating balance.
