This black-and-white photograph reveals with grace and intensity the majestic Mont Dolent, a mythical mountain culminating at 3823 meters above sea level, whose remarkable geographical feature is that it stands at the crossroads of three nations: Switzerland, Italy and France. Immortalized from the Swiss side, on the heights of Verbier, this exceptional view certainly reveals its most beautiful profile, dominated by the elegant Gallet ridge and its suspended glaciers, impressive for their icy delicacy and aerial verticality.

To the right, the Aiguille de l'Amône rises proudly, its fearsome north face attracting the most talented steep-slope skiers. Here, after a storm, Mont Dolent appears magnificently adorned in fresh, immaculate snow, as if emerging from a pure, unreal dream. This dreamy vision is the fruit of years of waiting, during which Mont Dolent seemed to constantly challenge and elude me. Sometimes the snow was insufficient, sometimes the light too timid, or the sky desperately empty of clouds.

But in the spring of 2025, all the elements finally came together to offer my lens that rare and precious moment, that long-hoped-for alpine portrait. Between light and shadow, in an atmosphere delicately veiled in clouds, the summit emerges like a celestial jewel. Its slender forms, exquisitely fine textures and suspended glaciers bear witness to the fragile, sublime beauty of the Alps. Mont Dolent thus stands out as a dream mountain, whose visual purity echoes the infinite passion that drives my photographic work.
