Valais Mountains
About the work
I studied this vantage point for a long time before going there, as a summer storm had just sprinkled the mountain. The first saving snows after a hot, particularly dry summer. See how open the glaciers are and how deep the crevasses. Just covered with snow, they become traps for anyone trying to cross them.
I love this sequence of shots. When the horizon is sculpted by mountains that follow one another to infinity. Offering our imagination the most beautiful climbs. So many summits over 4,000 metres in a single painting. The work is grandiose and the moment bewitching. I'm so happy to have been there at the right time. As the emerging light enters into symbiosis with the fresh snow. When nature's artist redraws the reliefs in charcoal. The subtle contrasts in the photography magnify the beauty of the mountains. Admire the light that caresses the ridges, giving life to the contours of the landscape. Our dreams take us from valley to valley among these giants of the Alps to the summit of their sovereign. The Weisshorn, enthroned in majesty at an altitude of 4505 metres.
