Little Mount Collon
secret poetry
About the work
I immortalized Petit Mont Collon in 2017, after the passage of a storm. This photograph reveals all the poetry of this mountain: a subtle play of light and shadow animates its slopes, revealing its gentle curves and elegant reliefs. The storm has passed, leaving behind a special, almost dreamy atmosphere. The clouds are still floating. The Soft contrasts that shape this work are particularly appealing to me. Subtle nuances of gray and white that delicately shape the relief. Here, the mountain breathes.
When I contemplate this photograph, I think back to those pioneers, André Bernard and Rodolphe Tissières, who probably made the first ascent in 1940. What emotions they must have felt when they set foot on this virgin summit !
Through this work, I pay homage to those more confidential mountains that are patiently waiting to be discovered, appreciated and brought to light. This painting reminds us that Alpine greatness lies not only in the most famous summits , but also in these discreet treasures, equally imbued with a silent majesty.
