Piz Palü
Divine Symmetry
About the work
After spending many years trying to immortalize the beauty of this high summit, I'm proud to present this beautiful photograph of Piz Palü. I took it in spring, after a snowstorm. The snow-covered summit , illuminated by the sun, tears through the clouds.
The photograph invites us to rediscover it again and again, delving into its many details. The beauty of its suspended glaciers, the crosshatching and shadows that leave us dreaming. The work takes us on a journey to the heart of a marvellous world of Alpine purity. We move along, lulled by the gentleness of this grandiose landscape Powerful. And therein lies the strength of this portrait: to convey the power of Piz Palü through the infinite gentleness that envelops us when we look at it. I love these contrasts Soft, these silvery tones. They highlight the personality of this broad, serene summit . A quiet beauty rather than a giant with sharp teeth.
The play of light and shadow also highlights the distinctive silhouette of this Engadine mountain, giving the work a highly aesthetic symmetry and an almost abstract scope. Faced with this divine painting, we can only dream, escape and love even more the transcendent beauty of the high mountains.
