Rimpfischhorn and Strahlhorn
The veiled peaks
About the work
That day, the light played on the mountain. The sky opened up at times, letting in a diffused light that mingled with the clouds. The scenery became vaporous, almost unreal. It was as if the mountain, jealous of its beauty, wanted to reveal only fragments of it. Each brightening offered a fleeting vision, a painting in perpetual transformation.
I love these moments when everything seems suspended. The clouds rise, dissipate and then return. The mountain breathes, alive. The Rimpfischhorn, Strahlhorn andAdlerhorn create a scene that is silent but full of intensity. It's a journey to the heart of the ephemeral, a moment of grace where you feel like a spectator of a mystery greater than yourself.
Through this photograph, I pay homage to these 4,000 Valaisans, less famous than their illustrious neighbors, but with a rare elegance. They let themselves be approached like whispered confidences amidst the clouds. In this black-and-white portrait, the strength of the rock and the lightness of the mist combine to create a timeless landscape, imbued with poetry and contemplation.
