Täschhorn, Dom, Lenzspitze
majestic trio
About the work
Austrian mountaineer Karl Blodig, a pioneer in the conquest of 4,000-metre summits , expressed his fascination with the Lenzspitze: "Whoever contemplates its sublime beauty is seized with an uncontrollable urge to conquer it. No whim of nature breaks the perfect balance of its silhouette." These words take on their full meaning in the face of this spectacle. The light reveals the freshly snow-covered Lenzspitze with absolute purity. A striking contrast between the softness of the clouds and the wildness of its vertical face. Here, the high mountains reveal their most authentic essence, far removed from the world of man.
I captured this black-and-white photograph when the fog had decided to dissipate. The clouds play with the ridges, creating a mysterious ballet of appearances and disappearances. This theatrical atmosphere transforms the landscape into a world apart, where only wild nature dictates its laws.
How is it possible to observe such splendor in the high mountains? It's a question that haunts me every day. These fleeting moments, when everything aligns to reveal perfection, justify years of patience and observation. The Täschhorn, the Dom and the Lenzspitze offer us their most beautiful portraits.
