about the work
The Valais in a storm. In this fabulous black-and-white panoramic photograph, several valleys intertwine. I studied the topography at length to find that special angle that would highlight the immensity of the high summits. The legendary mountains of the Swiss Alps seem to follow one another, linked by a single ridge. A bewildering picture that challenges our certainties and takes us on a journey beyond the sky.Our ascent begins in the Val de Bagnes. In the foreground, the crests of Tournelon Blanc face the wind. In the background, our steps take us from La Ruinette to Mont Blanc de Cheilon. From the Aiguille de la Tsa, we reach the Pointe de Genevois and the Dents de Veisivi, culminating in the Val d'Hérens. Finally dominating the horizon, the Grand Cornier rises up in the middle of the picture. To the right, its ridge leads to the famous Dent Blanche, whose silhouette is instantly recognizable. Finally, on the left, the Weisshorn takes pride of place, its northern ridge crossing the Grand Gendarme.
When I immortalized this exceptional panorama of the Valais Alps, I was in a helicopter near Grand Combin. The winds were blowing at over 100 km/h. In these extreme conditions, I had to react quickly. Because the landscape was changing all the time. So, despite my fear, I held on until nature offered me this amazing spectacle. Seeing mountains appear beyond the clouds. Photography invites us on a journey. From valleys to summits, we can't take our eyes off this celestial universe. As we explore, nature reveals its absolute power. Fascinating mountains, contemplating you like this, I know my place is by your side. To continue my quest to shed light on your eternal beauty and the richness of your history.
