From the val d’Anniviers, the horizon opens out onto a grandiose fresco: to the left, the Grand Combin massif towers like a colossus; to the right, the Aiguilles Rouges d'Arolla soar, slender, emerging through the clouds. Two worlds, two characters, united in the same light.

On this day, winter had deposited its mantle of snow on the ridges. The white slopes stretched as far as the eye could see. The Aiguilles Rouges d'Arolla, fierce and slender, hid behind a veil of mist, as if resisting the sky's momentum. The Grand Combin, massive and unruffled, towered in the distance.

I remember the light filtering through the clouds, highlighting the roughness of the rock and the softness of the snow. The mountain was constantly changing. Shadows and light vied with relief, creating a moving tableau.

To photograph this scene was to capture the dialogue between two iconic Valais summits : the imposing strength of the Grand Combin and the sharp momentum of the Aiguilles Rouges d'Arolla. One in majesty, massive and protective, the other in resistance, thin blades defying the clouds. Together, they form a singular harmony, like a silent conversation between two guardians of the Alps.

In this portrait, I wanted to highlight this balance: grandeur and finesse, power and fragility. A striking encounter between mountains, where the eye loses itself and the soul soars.
