Bietschhorn
The awakening of a pyramid
About the work
This summit the Upper Valais, often ignored in favor of its more famous neighbors, is for me a discreet jewel. A perfect pyramid, erected at 3934 metres, far from the hustle and bustle of human life. It is a silent colossus whose strength can be seen in its clean lines, in the tension of its ridges, in its mineral sobriety.
It was all a question of patience when I chose to immortalize this scene. I had been there for hours, waiting for the moment. The winds had died down, but the mist clung to the slopes, refusing to give way. Then, a warmer breeze, a denser glow, and the scene opened up. Like a cathedral emerging from the fog, the summit was revealed, bathed in pearly light. Suspended above the sea of clouds, it seemed to float, free from the laws of the terrestrial world.
I love these moments when reality flirts with dream. Where photography becomes an act of faith. It's no longer a simple Alpine scenery, but a face, a being, a presence. The Bietschhorn spoke to me that day - in its isolation, in its raw light, in its refusal to bend.
I dedicate this work to all those who seek the invisible. To those who, like me, find a form of truth in the mountains. The Bietschhorn here is not an image. It is a breath. An impulse towards the sky. A fragment of eternity offered between two clouds.
