Breithorn
sublime trio
About the work
Fascinating paradox: this summit , said to be easily accessible and the first alpine experience for many mountaineers aspiring to break the symbolic 4,000-meter barrier, reveals a face of unsuspected complexity. Its north face reminds us that the mountain can never really be tamed, that behind its supposed accessibility lies a deep, wild and untamable nature.
In this work, I wanted to capture not the easy ascent that crowds experience from the Klein Matterhorn, but the austere beauty of its north face. For it is perhaps here, in its less-frequented aspects, that Breithorn reveals its true essence - that of a majestic colossus which, despite its reputation for benevolence, remains above all a child of the primordial forces of our Earth.
