In the heart of the Val Bregaglia, a vision of absolute purity awaits our gaze. Piz Cengalo and Piz Badile, on the border between Switzerland and Italy, show their northern faces. Twin summits with distinct temperaments, they rise out of the mist like titans of ice and rock.

A seven-hour drive separates me from these giants. Seven hours of faith in the moment, of certainty in the light. Because photographing these giants requires much more than mere presence. Before moving, I observe, scrutinize, study every nuance of the map, every meteorological promise.

In this panoramic photograph, Piz Badile is bathed in brilliant light. Its north face, entirely plastered by recent snowfalls, becomes a perfect canvas on which the sun imposes its golden signature. Piz Cengalo , on the other hand, stands in striking contrast to its neighbor. Between the two, the valley plays with nebulous veils, adding an almost spiritual dimension to the scene.
