The Coast to Coast Giants

In this magnificent panoramic photograph, black mingles with white to sublimate the grandeur of a legendary triptych of the Swiss Valais. At the center of the picture, Dent Blanche is, in my eyes, one of the most beautiful mountains in the Alps. Guy de Maupassant nicknamed this perfectly shaped pyramid the Monstrueuse coquette. On the left, the Quatre Ânes ridge was named after the climbers who opened this route. They declared that they had been donkeys to have climbed the mountain by this route, so poor was the quality of the rock.

On the left, the The Dent d'Hérens appears to be nearby, even though it is several kilometers from Dent Blanche. The angle of view I've adopted, and my photographic equipment, allow for this miracle: bringing summits closer together to better highlight their exceptional presence. The two mountains are also linked by history, as their names were interchanged when the Dufour map was produced. Lower down, the Pointe de Zinal gave its name to the valley it dominates. Finally, on the right, the Grand Cornier peaks at 3961 metres above val d’Anniviers. The Himalayan face of summit , with its hanging glaciers, is the source of its incredible beauty. Admire the mountains side by side, and you'll realize the gigantic dimensions of Dent Blanche, which rises to an altitude of 4358 metres.

This portrait celebrates mountains that are dear to me. Towering over val d’Anniviers, hidden by a sea of clouds, their shapes inspire my art. Emerging victorious from the fury of the storm, summits seem inaccessible. Photography opens the door to a celestial realm that seems straight out of our most sublime dreams. The image, striking and authentic, reflects the intensity of the feelings I've had for these mountains for so many years.
