About the work
This panoramic photograph reveals the splendour of the Imperial Crown of Zinal, in Switzerland. It features some of the most beautiful 4,000-meter-high summits in the Alps. This immense mountain range in the Valais is located at val d’Anniviers, on the border with the Zermatt valley.
This exceptional panorama could only be achieved from the air, as there is no summit from which to position yourself here. The aerial view brings together all the Crown Mountains. On the left, the Weisshorn, the highest summit of the Imperial Crown, stands out in all its majesty. summits In front of it, Bishorn is one of the easiest 4000-meter-high Alpine peaks to climb. The Zinalrothorn, with its long Blanc ridge, leads us to the Blanc de Moming. We then travel to Besso, the emblematic mountain of Zinal. In the background,Obergabelhorn and the Matterhorn line up one behind the other. The monumental height of the Matterhorn, which rises to 4478 metres above sea level, can be seen here, compared withObergabelhorn, which is 400 metres lower. Finally, we let ourselves be carried towards the The Dent d'Hérenswhose ridge is connected to the Matterhorn, the majestic Dent Blanche and the Grand Cornier.
A play on perspective leads us to believe that these high mountains are one after the other. In reality, the valleys of Zermatt, Turtmann, val d’Anniviers and Val d'Hérens separate them. By choosing this particular vantage point, from which these giants of rock and ice can be aligned in a single picture, I wanted to highlight the jewels that nature has to offer.
To create this work, I waited for a heavy snowfall. Then I had to catch the morning light, which is the only way to diffuse the effect of light and shadow on the freshly-whitened walls. Finally, it was essential that the clouds still covered the valley. All these conditions came together to magnify the purity and grandeur of summits in the Swiss Alps. By photographing this extraordinary panorama, I wanted to convey the celestial dimension of the high mountains, which never ceases to fill me with emotion.

We were bowled over!
My wife and I are amazed at the quality of print and the rendering of this magnificent photo.
