Dent Blanche
Queen of the Alps
About the work
The light, still hesitant, reveals the texture of the ice, underlining the cracks like so many lifelines. I love this moment when everything awakens: the seracs breathe, the snow shivers, the mountain confides in me. In the background, theObergabelhorn and Wellenkuppe answer the queen, two sentinels that extend the momentum, carry the gaze and compose with her a powerful harmony. Between deep shadows and silver glints, the landscape becomes a score, and each summit a note held in the cold morning air.
To photograph the Dent Blanche is to approach the truth of a character: pride, purity, silence. It yields nothing; it demands our patience, our humility, our accuracy. Only then can it be grasped - not tamed, but encountered. In this flight, I rediscover her again, as on the first day: a presence that silences our inner turmoil, a strength that lifts us up. I take her face engraved in the light, so that the echo of an Alpine soul remains, well beyond the moment. And I hope that every glance at this work will recapture that breath of altitude that makes us feel, for a brief moment, at one with the world.
