In the heart of the Valais Alps, the Dent Blanche rises to 4,358 meters, an almost perfect pyramid of gneiss whose sharp silhouette pierces the clouds. A motionless sentinel of the Valais canton, it has always fascinated me with its aristocratic stature and the natural poise that emanates from its vertiginous faces and sharp edges.

On this day, the mountain revealed itself differently. Here, the Dent Blanche emerges from the mist. The light caresses its contours, revealing the complex texture of the rock and the icy veins that criss-cross its flanks. Observe this particular luminosity, almost unreal in its delicacy. To pay homage to the Dent Blanche, I chose an unusual artistic style for myself - that of an image where the immaculate whiteness of the snow and the vaporous texture of the clouds become the protagonists. Even a few subtle touches of color make their way into my usually monochrome palette.

Here you can see the normal route of the Dent Blanche. This path tells the story of all those climbers who, for generations, have aspired to touch the summit. I think of their uncertain steps on these vertiginous slopes, of their short breaths in the rarefied air, of that victory when the summit is conquered.

Through this portrait, I wanted to capture not only the physical reality of the mountain, but also its almost spiritual dimension. For the Dent Blanche bears witness to its capacity to surprise us. To constantly reveal its new face. To transmit new emotions to us every day.
