About the work
A celestial journey on the slopes of the Cime de l'Est, in the heart of the Swiss Alps. This black-and-white photograph pays homage to summit des Dents du Midi, located at the entrance to the Valais. Viewed from the Riviera, it appears like a cathedral dominating the heights.
I took this portrait when the storm had just covered summits with fresh snow. The rock reveals new textures and shows the mountain in a new light. Light and shadow play on the faces of summit. The clouds, meanwhile, still cling to the Cime de l'Est and begin their dance with the elements. The moment takes our gaze beyond this world, and the universe captures the power of the mountain.
To immortalize such a spectacle, my patience and perseverance remain unfailing. I made numerous attempts to obtain this sumptuous portrait of the Cime de l'Est. Often, the mountain didn't provide the conditions I'd hoped for. This summit pure, powerful, grand. This summit that enters into symbiosis with the clouds. Every day, I scanned the weather forecasts, watching for the slightest change in wind and precipitation. The atmosphere I search enjoy only appears a few days a year. Those few sacred days when the sovereign mountain reveals its true essence. So, when the magic happens, I capture the sublime to bring you the most dazzling landscapes in the Alps.

My wife and I are amazed at the quality of print and the rendering of this magnificent photo. We had waited many years to put a picture on this blank wall because we had never "flashed" on a piece of art. Now we've found it, and it fits in perfectly at the entrance to our apartment. What's more, it depicts 3 summits that are particularly close to our hearts: the Weisshorn, Dent Blanche and the Matterhorn - quite a symbol...
