About the work
Imposing Dents du Midi, the famous mountain range in the Valais Alps, dominating the Val d'Illiez and the Rhône Valley. Opposite us rises the Cime de l'Est, summit the easternmost peak in the massif, at 3178 metres above sea level. Behind it, the evanescent Haute Cime barely emerges from the mist. Alongside Cime de l'Est, La Forteresse exposes its glacier to the sun's rays. An unfortunate glacier whose years are now numbered, a victim of an inexorably warming climate.
I took this impressive photograph after the passage of a winter storm. A rare, fleeting moment when the freshly snow-covered mountains radiate purity. Through my art, I wanted to convey the majestic power of the mountain, which, like a spear, seems intent on reaching for the heavens. Its slender face and sharp point could be mistaken for that of the Matterhorn when viewed from Zermatt.
Light and shadow sculpt the mountain, giving the picture a captivating graphic quality. The winter sun reveals an unsuspected universe, carried by the shadows of the ridges. The fascinating texture of rock and ice brings us face to face with the very essence of the mountain.

My wife and I are amazed at the quality of print and the rendering of this magnificent photo. We had waited many years to put a picture on this blank wall because we had never "flashed" on a piece of art. Now we've found it, and it fits in perfectly at the entrance to our apartment. What's more, it depicts 3 summits that are particularly close to our hearts: the Weisshorn, Dent Blanche and the Matterhorn - quite a symbol...

As former inhabitants of Zermatt, it's hard to forget the Matterhorn, even in a new environment of mountains and nature.we discovered this large photo of the Matterhorn in a gallery, so strong and intense, it was impossible to forget it........ It became obvious that it should adorn our new apartment as a centerpiece.What's more, we had a very sympathetic contact with the artist, who came himself to deliver his work.It's very appreciable and adds a dimension to the object, to know its creator, his passion, the conditions under which it was taken.The texture of the photo resembles a painting, the lights play on it, Next the hours.
