They create an atmosphere of supernatural beauty. The mountains seem to float in the ether. They emerge from a sumptuous sea of clouds that undulates at their feet.

This work was captured in 2015, when abundant snowfall transformed the Dents du Midi into an exceptional spectacle. This phenomenon is born of the mysterious alchemy between the elements. When I want to photograph the mountains at their most beautiful, I climb the heights after every storm, trying my luck tirelessly, in the hope that one day a moment as magical as this will occur.

This work features the south face of the Dents du Midi. Observe the purity of the snow clinging to the summits. Observe this perfectly orchestrated sea of clouds. These mists give the photograph extraordinary depth and dimension, transforming the landscape into a painting of rare poetry.
