Mönch
trip to the Jungfrau
About the work
The soft, precise light of day sculpts the perfect undulations of this ridge. Each wave of snow, each line carved by the wind, creates a visual score where light and shadow intertwine. The purity of the white contrasts with the dark glints of the outcropping rock.
To photograph such a moment is to convey the momentum of a mountain that seems to want to touch the sky. This ridge, so elegant and vertiginous, is a challenge for every mountaineer. It demands concentration and respect, because one step too far into the void and you leave the realm of the living. But it also offers one of the finest views in the Alps, a unique perspective on the surrounding giants.
On this particular day, the conditions were ideal: almost clear skies, fresh snow shaped by the storm, and a clarity that magnifies every detail. I wanted to pay homage to this perfect line, this taut line between two worlds, which in itself sums up the beauty and demands of the high mountains.
