About the work
Welcome to the Mont-Blanc massif in France. Here, the west face of Mont Blanc is in the spotlight, as seen from Megève and Combloux.
At the bottom of the photo, the Tête Rousse refuge opens the way to summits. Climbing the classic Mont Blanc access route, known as the Goûter route, you cross the couloir de la mort leading to the Goûter refuge, at 3835 metres above sea level. The ascent continues up to the Goûter dome, and finally reaches summit du mont Blanc, which at 4,808 metres seems to link earth to sky. The sun illuminates this path as if to show the way to the celestial kingdom. To the right, the shadow of the Aiguille du Bionnassay is reflected on the western flank of Mont Blanc.
By the end of the day, the storm has passed, giving way to the last rays of sunshine. Only a few clouds continue to caress summits. Mont Blanc exults in its thick blanket of snow. It's rare for snow to fall in such quantities in the high mountains. It took me several years of patience to capture this almost unreal moment.
The calm has returned, intense and intoxicating. The mountain evolves between light and shadow. The play of light highlights its crevasses, the purity of its lines, its history. The last glaciers in the Alps are likely to live here, at very high altitude. The grandeur of the massif imposes itself on us, fascinating. The contrasts of black and white create a powerful impression. It sublimates both the strength of the mountain and the emotion that emanates from it.

My wife and I are amazed at the quality of print and the rendering of this magnificent photo. We had waited many years to put a picture on this blank wall because we had never "flashed" on a piece of art. Now we've found it, and it fits in perfectly at the entrance to our apartment. What's more, it depicts 3 summits that are particularly close to our hearts: the Weisshorn, Dent Blanche and the Matterhorn - quite a symbol...
