about the work
Wonderful flight above the Mont Blanc, summit the highest of the Alps. I made this aerial view from the heights of Megève and Combloux. The panoramic photograph reveals the freshly snowed mountain emerging from the clouds after the storm. Last breath of grace before the fall of the day. The moment is magical, like a dream in black and white depicting the fabulous story of the hero of the Alps. The surrounding mountains, caressed by the mist, enrich the panorama with a captivating depth. In the foreground, the Aiguilles de Tré la Tête and its inspiring snowy ridges. In the background, the Monte Rosa massif, which spreads its summits 80 kilometers from the Mont Blanc chain. The sparkling light draws our eyes to the absolute master of the Alps, the extraordinary Mont Blanc. The Goûter route passes by the Bosses ridge and the Dôme du Goûter. The Aiguille de Bionnassay is also on the left of the picture. The Pape route, passing by the Dôme glacier, is one of the Italian routes to reach the summit. Finally, on the right, the Brouillard ridge crosses the Brouillard mountain and the Punta Baretti, which rise to more than 4000 meters of altitude alongside the Mont Blanc.
In taking this magnificent photograph of Mont Blanc, lord of the Alps, I wanted to immortalize its grandeur. The verticality of its faces and its impressive scale give it a Himalayan look. Mastodon dominating the horizon, imperturbable and eternal. To reach this portrait was not an easy task. I had to wait many years for the conditions to be met. Exceptional gift of a nature which offers to my glance the absolute beauty of the high mountain. With this work, I pay homage to the ruler of the Alps, whose immoderation fills us with emotion.
