Ober Gabelhorn
the smoking mountain
About the work
The clouds gradually evaporate, gradually clearing the view of the mountain. TheObergabelhorn seems to smoke, exhaling its own steam in this mystical atmosphere. You'd think you were looking at a dormant volcano!
Our eyes discover this particular face where only bare rock appears, with no trace of glacier. A striking contrast with the other, completely snow-covered side, which resembles the famous Himalayan summit , Ama Dablam. This duality reveals the complexity of this Valais giant, capable of presenting radically different faces depending on the angle of view. I never cease to devote my art to theObergabelhorn, witnessing its most beautiful splendors. This black-and-white creation, created in 2017, emanates the ardor of our first moments, the emotion felt at that very first glance, when in 2013 I discovered theObergabelhorn.
I love the details that emerge from this painting taken from the heights of Zermatt, this infinite beauty with the scent of eternity. I love the contemplative and profound atmosphere this photograph exudes. The strength and power of this mountain bewitch us. And in this fine art photograph, the Imperial Crown of Zinal reveals one of its most spectacular jewels.
