Piz Bernina and Piz Roseg
dialogue between two worlds
About the work
I took this panoramic photograph in 2020, shortly after a storm had deposited a thin layer of snow on the summits. When the mountain finally emerges from the clouds, it comes to life under the sun's rays, which sublimate the dazzling whiteness of its flanks. The Bernina massif is hundreds of kilometers from my home. Photographing these giants is always a challenge for me. Capturing their fleeting beauty requires anticipation, patience and luck. Despite meticulous preparation and careful study of weather conditions, the reality of the high mountains remains unpredictable. Only unfailing perseverance allows us to be present when nature offers this rare and precious moment.
Through this work, I wanted to highlight the resemblance and harmony of these two emblematic summits . This fascinating portrait reveals two Alpine colossi that, despite the illusion of immediate proximity, are separated by miles. An incomparable aesthetic that transcends the ordinary and touches our hearts deeply.
