In front of me rises the Aiguille du Chardonnet, the jewel in the crown of the Mont Blanc massif, at 3824 metres above sea level. A rock sentinel on the border between worlds, it reigns between the Tour and Argentière basins. I spent a long time studying the cartography of the valley to find this perfect, atypical and Powerful viewpoint. My patience was rewarded beyond all expectations.

That day, I witnessed a rare spectacle. The mountain is reborn in the middle of a storm, decked out in its purest snow. The clouds, still tormented, dance around the summit in a hypnotic ballet. They stretch, curl and caress the ridges with fluidity. This celestial choreography gives the work its striking movement, its inner vibration. Powerful contrasts structure the painting with dramatic force. The contrast between the immaculate white of the fresh snow and the deep shadows of the face creates a fascinating visual tension. The light plays with the clouds, illuminating some parts of the summit while others remain plunged in darkness.

I had the privilege of climbing the Aiguille du Chardonnet via the Forbes ridge. My footsteps have trodden this cathedral of rock and ice, my hands have touched its thousand-year-old stone. This intimate experience with the mountain enriches my vision and intensifies my emotion when I photograph it.

The graphics of this work touch me deeply. The glacier below seems to dialogue with the sky, creating a fascinating visual continuity. Faced with such beauty, it's hard not to be transported! The fulgurance of the Mont Blanc massif grips me wholeheartedly. It lifts me beyond myself and the world. In this photograph, I wanted to capture the soul of the mountain.
