This photograph was taken in 2020. I crossed Switzerland to reach these summits, waiting for the moment when the clouds would give way to the sparkling mountains. An icy, gripping night of waiting. At dawn, the Bernina massif woke up bleached by the night's furious winds. I seized my chance, immortalizing the fleeting splendor of this overwhelming world.

This morning light reveals every detail of the avalanche in motion, creating a striking contrast between the whiteness of the snow and the dark rock. This fleeting vision bears witness to the perpetual life of the high mountains, where every moment can turn dramatic or extraordinary.

This work holds a special place in my heart because it evokes my fondest memories. When I look at it, I recall the summer of 2024, when I was lucky enough to traverse the Bernina massif. A memorable adventure. From the Fuorcla Prievlusa pass, we climbed the famous Biancograt ridge before reaching the Piz Bernina. As the Marco e Rosa hut was closed, we had to continue without rest. We had to complete the entire route in one day. After the Terrasses de Bellavista and the Col Fuorcla Bellavista, our adventure culminated in the ascent of Piz Palü. What a joy to relive such an adventure!

From this vantage point, the mountain seems to glow. The Piz Bernina and its avalanche captivate us, inviting us to dream and escape.
