About the work
In the heights of the Valais, the north face of the Matterhorn reveals all its splendor. The legendary mountain of the Swiss Alps, the Matterhorn rises to 4478 metres, imperious and sovereign. Its immense north face, carved by time and the elements, bears witness to an ancestral strength that not even the most violent of storms can shake.
I captured this striking photograph just as the winds had wrapped the Matterhorn in a coat of snow of absolute purity. The moment was rare, precious. Here, the mountain, usually so fierce, was engaged in a battle against the elements. In the background loomed the Dent d'Hérens, the Matterhorn's faithful companion in the crown of the 4000. Between them, a silent dialogue is established. The mist rising from the valleys envelops their feet, isolating these two titans from the rest of the world.
Black and white sublimates this exceptional landscape. I love the way the mountains are revealed in this way, in their simplest expression, stripped of the artifice of color. I love this quest for the essential, this perpetual search for purity of line and form. This portrait of the Matterhorn and the Dent d'Hérens is much more than an image. It's a tribute to the grandeur of the Alps, the fragility of the moment and the eternity of the high mountain. It's an invitation to travel, to uplift the soul and contemplate a beauty that defies human understanding.

As former inhabitants of Zermatt, it's hard to forget the Matterhorn, even in a new environment of mountains and nature.we discovered this large photo of the Matterhorn in a gallery, so strong and intense, it was impossible to forget it........ It became obvious that it should adorn our new apartment as a centerpiece.What's more, we had a very sympathetic contact with the artist, who came himself to deliver his work.It's very appreciable and adds a dimension to the object, to know its creator, his passion, the conditions under which it was taken.The texture of the photo resembles a painting, the lights play on it, Next the hours. It seems alive. A real daily pleasure!

We were bowled over!
My wife and I are amazed at the quality of print and the rendering of this magnificent photo. We had waited many years to put a picture on this blank wall because we had never "flashed" on a piece of art. Now we've found it, and it fits in perfectly at the entrance to our apartment. What's more, it depicts 3 summits that are particularly close to our hearts: the Weisshorn, Dent Blanche and the Matterhorn - quite a symbol...
