Portrait of Piz Roseg, Powerful and majestic. Our gaze travels along the ridge of Piz Roseg. In the background, the emblematic Piz Bernina summit rises to 4048 metres. It is the only giant in the eastern Alps to exceed 4,000 metres in altitude. Up there, the wind, still tumultuous, plays with the summits, sculpting the clouds that swirl around the ridges.

This black-and-white work, captured while the winds are still dominating the summits, transports us to the beyond. Through this photograph, I wanted to reveal the impetuous force of the elements, the chaos that sometimes reigns in alpine heights. The agitated forms express an intense, almost palpable energy. They overwhelm our senses and fill us with wonder.

But what is the subtle message the mountains are trying to communicate? How do we feel when faced with this unsettling vision? Do we see Piz Roseg and Piz Bernina threatened, destined to be swallowed up by the impending storm? Or are we witnessing the rebirth of nature? How we look at it depends intimately on our state of mind, for in this painting, the balance between Yin and Yang, between serenity and anguish, is almost perfect. We are then invited to contemplate and welcome, with humility, the infinite power of these Alpine giants.
