Day breaks on the Trient plateau. Not far from the Mont Blanc massif, the Valais Alps reveal their treasures. The Aiguilles Dorées glacier casts its gigantic shadow over the immaculate ice. Every year, the plateau is transformed, and the more the Trient glacier recedes, the more the mountains seem to grow. I took this incredible black-and-white panoramic photograph in the dead of winter. In the French Alps, the Aiguille d'Argentière, the Aiguille du Chardonnet and the Aiguille Verte, famous summits in the Chamonix valley, echo in the background the splendour of the giants of the Trient.

A few clouds swirl around summits, adding an enchanting touch to the picture. Covering the landscape in sumptuous snow, nature puts on her artist's clothes for a few hours. Redrawing the contours of the mountains and revealing the most beautiful textures of their rock. The renewed purity of the world above that so thrills me.
