Alpine Evanescence

An evanescent mountain lost in the fog. Piz Bernina dominates the Engadine and the Swiss canton of Graubünden. summit is the most imposing mountain in the eastern Alps, rising to 4048 metres above sea level. To climb it, you'll need to take the fabulous Biancograt ridge, cross the Pizzo Bianco and then continue the ascent, redoubling your efforts to finally reach summit.

I took this enchanting photograph in spring. On that day, the storm was gradually fading, covering the mountain with snow as if it were pouring out its wrath. The clouds were slow to release the rocks from their misty grip. In the early afternoon, I had to wait several hours before finally seeing the silhouette of summit on the horizon. The spectacle only lasted a moment. Nature's fleeting magic. Admiring and concentrated, I managed to immortalize Piz Bernina, tearing through the clouds for a few seconds before being swallowed up by the elements once again.

In this portrait of Piz Bernina, I wanted to highlight the timeless, unchanging beauty of the mountain through abstraction. summit is more about guessing than revealing.
