Tschingelhörner
the wild bastions of Flims
About the work
The first thing you notice is the Grosses Tschingelhorn, a natural bastion separating the cantons of Glarus and Graubünden. Its razor-sharp ridge is an irresistible eye-catcher. Behind it, Piz Segnas rises, massive and inaccessible on this winter's day. Climbing it on this day would have been an unreasonable gamble, even for the most seasoned mountaineers.
The Tschingelhörner are a discreet prodigy. Their chain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, bears witness to an exceptional geological history. Here, man leaves only a fleeting imprint: these peaks belong to nature alone, and it is perhaps this inaccessibility that gives them such an aura.
In this frozen setting, the mind wanders. It crosses the ridges, glides down the slopes, lingers on the play of light and shadow sculpting the walls. Each summit becomes a world of its own, a high-altitude refuge where silence and beauty reign supreme.
This photograph is an invitation to contemplate the mountain at its purest: a space of absolute freedom, where only the imagination can overcome what reality renders impassable.
